This lovely plantation style home is named for the land it sits so proudly
upon. Nearly 100 years ago, the hillside lands Kalaheo were designated
homestead lands. Parcels were sold to families who would live on the
land and cultivate crops or trees. Six generations of the Rita family
have grown up on the land surrounding this beautiful home. Thus, "Kuakahi"
- homestead.
Relax in the cool breeze on the large front porch and enjoy the distant
ocean and mountain views. The home has three beautifully appointed bedrooms,
two baths, a large sunny kitchen and spacious dining and living rooms.
The two car garage with a full laundry room is detached from the house.
NOTE: Smoking is NOT allowed inside the home.

Map) Kuakahi is located on the mauka (mountain) side and faces the
ocean. Because we're on a private road, we have no street address. We
simply say we're "off Puuwai", near Kalawai Park (a favorite walking/jogging
area, soccer and baseball field for local teams, with a playground for
kids, and tennis and basketball courts open to anyone). Kuakahi sits
on a large lot surrounded by other large lots and pastures. It is a
5 minute drive west to Salt Pond Beach, a favorite local swimming and
camping area. To the south, a 10-15 minute drive takes you the to Poipu
Beach area, a very popular swimming spot for locals and visitors alike,
as well as attractions like Old Koloa Town and Spouting Horn.
Kukuiolono Golf Course (9 holes) is a quick 3 minute drive from Kuakahi.
The rates are cheap and the view from the park is gorgeous. Its Japanese
Garden is a popular place for weddings and family portraits.
Kalaheo boasts great places to eat including Brick Oven Pizza, Camp
House Grill, Pomodoro's Italian Restaurant, Kalaheo Steak House, and the Kalaheo Coffee Company. All are within walking
distance of Kuakahi.
